HOUSE BUILDER REPORT:
PERSIMMON HOMES

They say: "Persimmon is the UK's leading house builder. We aim to provide the highest levels of design, construction and service; so however you live your life, you'll feel more at home with Persimmon."

14/5/2008

Ask any customer from a certain development named after one of the directors wifes about quality!!!

What a shame the Construction Directors keep changing like the wind. That's why quality changes too. Be very careful when buying.

20/10/2003
A company committed to quality now, through the assignment of a new build director Mr Andy Barrett. This company is showing a willingness to want to change the quality of new build. In doing so they have asked Survey Homes 2000 to help by inspecting their homes. This is an obvious selling advantage to the company, as the customer is sold a virtually fault-free home.

Further to our previous report dated 04/09/2002, you may have seen the media interest in this company and Survey Homes continuing involvement (See News page for more). It seems that the build quality is the same throughout the country but, in defence of Persimmon, they are still resolving the defects brought to their attention. This is an excellent example of a developer who needs to improve their quality control procedures. We advise you take care when buying.

The homes that were inspected did have numerous faults but mostly attention to detail. When the company was asked "Would you resolve the concerns" they replied: "As long as the faults are justified". The reports have been sent and sources tell me that the company are resolving the remedial work. Survey Homes 2000 asked the company if they could inspect free of charge a Build Complete House before the customer moved in, the company declined our offer and explained that the house is inspected five times by competent inspectors, although it would appear this is not so in these cases.
